So, learning from others is a ton of fun. Not only am I learning because I'm in school and from my profs, but also from classmates, myself, and the plentiful amount of artists in wonderful communities online. I look back to the golden age illustrators like N.C. Wyeth, Howard Pyle, Frazetta, Jones, and look to the masters, like Rembrandt, Sargent. I look at artist online. The people over at Massive Black, Bobby chiu, conceptart.org. even people here. I see their work, their processes, i study their compositions and colours(yes, i spelled it the english way, i cant not when i type for some reason). There is so much material out there in the world how could I NOT learn?
So, what I guess I am trying to say is, as an artist, get your s#!t together, and apply yourself. Learn, teach yourself from the masters, learn anatomy, learn to use a medium, study the process's of other artist and make them better. Understand perspective and composition. ITS NOT THAT HARD. Perspective: I see people completly ruining good drawings/paintings with bad perspective. Learn it, there are SOOOOOO many awesome resources out there. HERES ONE: [link] a day, take a week, take a month, sit down and learn it. Its super simple, and is ELEMENTARY KNOWLEDGE. ONce you know/understand/get it, its a breeze. A few simple lines and BAM, awesome perspective. Anatomy, something I still am working on, and everyone is. Draw from life, draw yourself, draw from pictures. get a book and learn from there. [link] This is a great book that I highly reccomend. But never stop drawing from life!
Rant aside. Apply yourself. Take initiative and start. From there, your only going to get better.
